San José State University
Campus Overview
San José State University is the Silicon Valley’s metropolitan university,
located on 154 acres in downtown San José. Students at SJSU are offered the
best of both worlds: a large, multicultural campus and personal attention from faculty
members in the smaller setting of the university’s eight colleges. San José
State University is the oldest of the CSU’s 23 campuses, dating back to 1857. Today,
the university provides more graduates in business, science and engineering to the area
than any other school in the nation. In addition, SJSU has been ranked among the top
public universities in the west among those providing bachelor’s and master’s level
programs. San José State University is located just over an hour south of San
Francisco and 40 minutes from the California coastline.
