Situated on a landscaped 228-acre campus, California State University, Fullerton
(CSUF) is a comprehensive, regional university located in Orange County, CA, a technologically
rich and culturally vibrant area of metropolitan Los Angeles. With seven colleges
and approximately 1,900 faculty members, the university offers 100 degree programs,
46 of them at the graduate level. CSUF, has three satellite locations and a new
branch campus in south Orange County, that combined enroll more than 32,400 students
- the largest enrollment of higher education institutions in the county. CSUF aspires
to combine the best qualities of teaching and research universities, where actively
engaged students, faculty and staff work in close collaboration to expand knowledge.
The University recently tied for 8th in the 2004 U.S. News and World
Report rankings of "America's Best Colleges" in the listing of "Top
Public Universities—Master's" in the West, based on characteristics that
included, peer assessment among academics, graduation and freshman retention rates,
faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving. The
institution is also among the nation's universities with the highest levels of campus
diversity, ranking 4th nationally among institutions awarding bachelor's
degrees to minority students, according to U.S. Department of Education statistics.
