Campus Overview
Founded in 1929, the California Maritime Academy prepares students for careers in business, engineering, technology marine transportation and global studies. Cal Maritime is one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the U.S., and the only one on the West Coast. Located on the waterfront in Vallejo, 30 miles northeast of San Francisco, the campus includes the 500-foot training ship, Golden Bear, which serves as a floating laboratory. Known for its direct, hands-on approach, Cal Maritime provide its more than 600 students with a 14:1 student-to-teacher ratio and a quality educational experience that combines intellectual learning, applied technology, leadership development and global awareness. The university is the only CSU campus whose students enjoy 100-percent placement upon graduation. www.csum.edu
